You should all know by now what I’m going to say. And if you don’t, it’s time you got caught up. I didn’t name myself Cafe for shits and giggles.
Now, I’ve written all about my coffee addiction before. I’ve made comics about the Coffee Angel & Coffee Devil that like to converse with me from time to time. I’ve even displayed a count of how many days sober I managed to get into my most recent delusion that I’m-going-to-beat-the-addiction-this-time-I-swear. As I disdainfully sipped on the tea that had been steeped for half an hour every morning, I knew that I would go running back to the Holy Bean soon enough.
So anyways, back to my point. You already know how I feel about my best friend *ahem*, so I won’t go repeating all over again about how much I love it and couldn’t live without it, and that I was a stupid fool for ever trying to leave my precious companion. Instead, as I sip on my coffee this morning, I will share with you my top three coffee picks. Here we go …
This is what I’m drinking right now and what I drink every morning. And what I carry in my purse for emergencies. And what I will be bringing three-weeks worth of in my suitcase to Asia. You can find this at a Korean supermarket — a bag of 100 sticks is about $15 (use two sticks for one regular sized mug). I’ve always been a snob towards instant coffee, but I’m totally hooked on this stuff!
I actually used to work at Starbucks a long time ago. This was when I got introduced to the wonderful world of espresso drinks. Now I can’t justify paying almost $5 for a coffee (especially when I got good ol’ Maxim), but once in a while a Caramel Macchiato at Starbucks is a nice treat. What’s in it? Vanilla syrup, steamed milk with some foam on top, drop in a shot of espresso, then double-hatch that caramel sauce. Mm-mm.
I actually dislike most brewed coffees, but I’m okay with Second Cup’s (representin’ Canada!). Add some caramel creme to sweeten, plus a touch of cream or milk, and you’re good to go.
