    In short, its my humble take on all that.

    On ‘stopping for rest on the digital superhighway’. Following ideas gleaned from your blog, I cast off from shore and sailed to some distant islands where internet wasn’t easily available. Staying disconnected 123 days was heavenly. I sensed reality rushing back – the warmth, the smells, the songs; I realized I’d been lead into a very addictive artificial world, where the mind was very active but the body was neglected, almost drugged into evasion and sense-deprivation. I realized needed to be disciplined, I could diet my IT intake. I assure you, Janice, absence does make the heart go fonder, even for friends made on the net. It confirmed that I am another person in the natural world, but memories of the virtual work stick. Sometimes at sea I’d wonder about the real you in your picture or your nickname when I’d brew coffee, because I’d read and thought about your work. Perhaps it was rude just to sail away, but those few who really mattered (those who took the time to comment, who conversed, those who wrote about interesting events or ideas, like adventuresome demoiselles jumping out of planes) are never lost or forgotten. I was pleased to have you along. I do plan to catch up on your work soon. And many thanks for listing me among your numerous admirers.

      Haha, that’s pretty funny you’d remember me while you were brewing coffee! Says something about my coffee addiction, huh? lol Or I guess maybe it’s just that I named myself Cafe =P

      • I had to rip the plug out of the wall socket, slam the phone jack on the desk and scream “Get out,” and so I did. And then at sea, with the lightning flashing down and the waves jumping aboard, I looked up and said, “Ok, ok, I know who’s in charge. Back on earth, they are just sparkling angels dancing thru the wires.” The wind howled, then abated, the rain fell and I drank it. Surprisingly, in return, I got yet another happy day.

        And you, Café, how do you imagine we see you?

          Well, okay it sounds like part of your trip wasn’t all relaxing under the sun but an adventurous journey. In any case, I wish I could have such a getaway!!

          • Close call. From the looks of “Cafe’s World Travels,” you are well on your way to obtaining your wishes in life. How you ever find time to do all this is a mystery to me — female multitasking efficiency I suspect. Sun and relaxation, go for it. Anyway, yes, your travels stories are gaining depth and momentum — useful skills. Anyway, I’m curious about how much of your work get’s lodged in memory. You sure do run an attractive cafe.

            • LOL I don’t know how I manage, I guess I’m used to a crazy busy life! :)

      • Cafe, you’ve used your blog to create such a close link between yourself and coffee that the association blends in our minds. I’m surely not alone in recognizing this. Yes, maybe an angel briefly gliding thru memory, winging by on just an aroma. You’ve passed some of your addiction on to us. Very busy perhaps, but very clever too.

        • Lol I hope I literally haven’t gotten anyone addicted to coffee who wasn’t already! As much as I love the stuff, if ppl can do without it, I support that :)
